Review: Chef’s Choice Certified Organic Shredded Coconut

Coconuts offer a number of health benefits and can be used in many different ways. Getting fresh coconut isn’t hard to do in my motherland. It’s funny how I have to pay more for a pack when back home I could get them for a very cheap price or even for free on a lucky day. I wanted to try some coconut macaroons so I went ahead and purchased this brand on Amazon Japan. There were lots of positive feedbacks so I opted for this particular brand.

FEATURES

1. 100% coconut
2. No artificial flavors, colors, preservatives
3. GMO-free
4. Vegan friendly

PROS

1. Shredded into bite size
2. Smells and tastes like real coconut
3. No sugary flavor

CONS

1. A bit hard in texture (maybe because it’s the dried type)
2. Not suitable for snacking for me because it’s a bit hard to chew
3. A bit pricey

Here’s a photo of my coconut macaroons using this brand. I really loved the flavor. The only thing that I would love for this brand to improve (if possible) is the texture. It was a bit hard to chew. Because of that, I won’t repurchase.
