Review: Schick Hydro Silk TrimStyle Razor

I regularly shave my legs and underarms but prefer to trim my bikini area to a very short length. While I’ve tried clean shaving in the past, I found the regrowth to be uncomfortably itchy. So, I’ve settled on a method that prioritizes comfort and avoids razor burn. Since moving to Japan in 2016, I’ve been using a specific razor that my husband orders for me from Amazon every three months. This schedule aligns well with how often I change my razor, ensuring I have a quality grooming routine that suits my personal preferences.

The moment I tried the Schick Hydro Silk TrimStytle razor, I knew it would become my go-to grooming tool. Indeed, that’s exactly what has happened. Before I delve into why I’ve chosen it, allow me to introduce you to this remarkable product.

FEATURES

  1. The razor features 5 curve-sensing blades, each equipped with unique skin guards. These smooth the skin with every stroke, minimizing irritation and ensuring a close shave.
  2. The razor is designed with a water-activated Hydra-Boost serum containing shea butter. Clinically proven to offer lasting hydration, this moisturizing serum continues to nourish the skin for up to 2 hours after shaving.
  3. The bikini trimmer is designed to be waterproof, featuring an adjustable comb with four settings. This allows for a personalized trim length, ensuring a clean and comfortable look and feel.

PROS

  1. Good choice of colors.
  2. It’s light and easy to grip.
  3. Comes with a battery that can last up to 3 months or so.
  4. Can be used in or out of the shower.
  5. I pair the razor with a shaving gel and it works very well. I don’t get razor burn right after shaving or once I’m out of the shower.
  6. Gives a nice smooth shave. Also, I’ve never cut myself with this.
  7. The trimmer does a good job too. It gives the length that I usually desire with ease.

CONS

  1. You may get razor burn using the razor without shaving gel after a few hours.
  2. When the trimmer is in use, it emits a noticeable vibrating sound. This can create a bit of awkwardness for me if someone else is within earshot.

An unexpected plus is the sensation the battery-powered trimmer provides. While I don’t want to overstate this aspect, it does contribute to a pleasant experience. Rest assured, this isn’t the primary reason I recommend this razor. Please refer back to the listed pros for a comprehensive understanding.
