Review: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick

I admit that I’m probably becoming a lipstick fan especially of one that compliments my skin tone. While the selection is pretty vast, I tend to be picky because my lips easily crack and dry. Not to mention the hyperpigmentation that’s taking its toll on my confidence. I feel super self-conscious without tinted lips when I’m around other people. Fortunately, I married someone who doesn’t give a damn about how I look with or without lipstick. You know that feeling, right?

Before I get all mushy, let’s get down to business and dive right into the juicy deets.

review revlon super lustrous lipstick
Shade: Blushing nude, 1,200 yen (tax excluded)

Features

  1. A lightweight lipstick formulated with microfine pigments for a vibrant shade.
  2. Infused with vitamin E and avocado oil to hydrate lips.
  3. Does not cake.
  4. Comes in 82 shades (but some stores in Japan don’t have all shades)

Pros

  1. The color looks nice on my skin tone and it blurs the hyperpigmented part of my lips a bit.
  2. Glides smoothly.
  3. Feels light on the lips.
  4. Not drying.
  5. Doesn’t cake.
  6. Doesn’t smudge.

Cons

  1. Not transfer-proof
  2. Not long-lasting
  3. A bit pricey for me

I prefer to use this on typical days. The shade is the reason why I bought it and didn’t disappoint in that department. I’d recommend it for that reason. But if you’re looking for something that lasts even after eating something oily, then I won’t say this one is for you.

  1. Gorgeous shade, I have one that is quite similar and I love it! It’s so hard to find lipsticks that really last a long time! At least this one doesn’t dry out the lips which is a big pro 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
