This is not a rant, rather it’s an objective recollection of a recent, unfortunate encounter I had with Store Me Sili – a company I discovered on Instagram. My intent is not to tarnish their reputation but to voice my dissatisfaction. The company in question specializes in selling affordable silicone-based kitchen utensils with the bonus of free worldwide shipping. As a token of partnership, they provided me with a discount code to distribute among my followers.
What drew me to Store Me Sili?
It was their intriguing brand philosophy, eloquently summed up as, “Non-Toxic. Functional. Reusable. Responsible.” They confidently assert their products are FDA-approved, a feature that would certainly attract any discerning customer.
Yesterday, my order arrived and unfortunately, it left much to be desired.
Further, the package lacked essential brand detailing, such as a barcode, manufacturing specifics, and other branding information one would expect from a credible company.
Some of them were stained and had white loose threads.
I immediately reached out to them to express my concerns and their response was less than satisfactory.
Although I initially found their response acceptable, things took a turn when they admitted their standard packaging procedure involves individually wrapping items, a practice neglected in my case. While I could overlook the damaged box, the unsatisfactory condition of the utensils raised serious questions about the safety and quality of their products. The situation escalated when I mentioned recording our conversation for future reference, to which they responded accusingly, interpreting it as a threat. As a paying customer, voicing dissatisfaction shouldn’t be misconstrued as a threat. Yes, the utensils appear functional, but can I trust their safety after receiving them in such a deplorable state?
This is my first encounter with products packaged with such disregard. It’s particularly disheartening when these products are destined for kitchen use. Even cosmetic products I’ve ordered in the past arrived meticulously sealed, irrespective of minor box damages.
Reflecting on this experience, two crucial lessons emerge:
- Aesthetics and captivating brand philosophies should not blind us to potential quality issues.
- Instagram might not always be the ideal platform for making purchases, with the exception of established and verified brands.

I can’t stay silent about this. No one else should experience this. Heads-up! You might receive an email from them trying to “defend” themselves. Anyway, have a great day, Jas!^^

Sorry this didn’t work out!
I once ordered a backpack as it looked so good. I received it in a good enough condition, but it tore on the very first day!

While I regret buying from them, I’ll just laugh it off. So funny how a company had the audacity to accuse me of threatening them when it’s too obvious that I received a trash. LOL
Sorry to hear your unfortunate event as well.

This is the thing with China-based suppliers. I love their pathetic attempts at customer service that turn overly defensive when there are inherent faults found in their product.
Just chalk it up to experience next time, and charge it to the game.

Had I known about their China-based warehouse (which they didn’t divulge in the first place), I wouldn’t have pursued buying.
