Dog Park in Tokyo: Wonderful Nature Village

Tucked away within Tokyo’s verdant western outskirts, a generous expanse of dog park beckons, an idyllic oasis designed with relaxation, recreation, and pet-friendly fun in mind. The introduction to this urban haven came through a fellow dog-owner friend, immediately captivating both my interest and that of my spirited companion, Danny. Without any trace of hesitation, we decided to embark on an adventure, coaxing our ever-curious Sushi into the car and setting course for the park. Conveniently located just an hour’s drive away from our home base in Saitama, the ease of access further bolsters its appeal – scoring a resounding 10 on our personal scale of weekend destinations.

IMPORTANT: Newcomers to the park, please note that a certificate of your pet’s rabies vaccination is a prerequisite for admission.

Our inaugural adventure to the park occurred about three weeks ago, on a day when the sun was flaunting its fiery peak. Yet, the soaring temperatures didn’t deter me, fueled as I was by the excitement for my feisty fur-ball, Sushi. I was intrigued to see how she would adapt to experiencing the great outdoors from a more human-oriented perspective, accompanied, of course, by her loyal human companions.

Upon navigating past the entrance area, the park’s charm swiftly unfolded before us. Despite the blazing heat, the setting was genuinely breathtaking. To be frank, my expectations were quite moderate, but the reality surpassed them phenomenally! Boasting a plethora of amenities including a dog run, hiking trails, a dog pool, a dog shower, pet stations, canoeing, a BBQ area and so much more, this place undeniably serves as a splendid outdoor haven for you and your cherished canine companions.

Furthermore, the park features an expansive fenced-off space where your pups can unleash their energy and frolic freely under the sun’s watchful gaze.

Once your pups have had their fill of frolicking under the sun, it’s time to retreat to a more sheltered area for some social interaction. Though not quite as sprawling as the open parkland, this roofed space still provides ample room for a good sprint and a game of fetch.

And what is summer without a splash in the pool? The park features two distinct swimming areas to cater to the diverse sizes of its furry guests. The larger pool welcomes the big, boisterous canines, while the smaller counterpart is tailored for the petite pups. This was the spot where my Sushi had her inaugural encounter with swimming. Was it a hit? Well, one look at the sheer joy radiating from her face says it all!

Should you choose to bypass the BBQ area but still yearn for a satisfying meal, the park’s adjacent village boasts the perfect solution. It was here that Danny and I had a delightful lunch, with Sushi loyally nestled at our side. The park has thoughtfully arranged for dogs to be leashed and secured via a fastener beneath the tables, ensuring a comfortable dining experience for everyone. Sushi, having expended most of her energy by this point, contentedly sat in her place, surveying her surroundings while we savored our meal. It was, without a doubt, my favorite moment of the day.

We’ve already made two trips to this marvelous locale, and it’s safe to say that many more are on the horizon. We’re even considering embarking on a camping adventure here in the future. It’s worth noting that the park is designed to accommodate visitors with physical handicaps, making it a welcoming and inclusive environment for all families. Additionally, the meticulous upkeep of the entire area significantly enhances its appeal for me. What a fantastic experience in a truly delightful village park!
