If you cannot claim your PRC ID personally, there are two other ways to get it. You can have a PRC ID holder claim it for you with an authorization letter. You can also have a representative, who doesn’t hold a PRC ID claim it for you with a Special Power of Attorney and the necessary documents. Below are the other requirements:
1. How to claim your PRC ID with Special Power of Attorney
It’s straightforward. Just collect the necessary requirements below.
- Your valid ID (scanned and colored)
- Claim slip (original or scanned)
- Special Power of Attorney (original)
If you are in Japan, you can visit the Philippine Embassy to avail of this service. Please visit their website and read the announcement on this first.
Next, your representative can submit them. The PRC office will provide any additional instructions.
2. How to claim your PRC ID with an Authorization Letter
The process is straightforward as well. Just prepare the requirements listed below.
- Your valid ID (scanned and colored)
- Claim slip (original or scanned)
- Signed Authorization Letter (scanned)
Your representative should also present his PRC ID and may be asked to provide a photocopy. Ask your representative to prepare a photocopy of his ID just in case.
Luckily, my brother has a PRC ID, so I simply provided an authorization letter.

Hi Ms Gim,nabasa ko post nyo last year pa before ko pinakuha this year yung PRC ID ko sa friend ko na Nurse. So nag scheduled ako online Feb 23,2024 for my initial registration then hindi nirelease ID ko sa OSSCO PALAYAN CITY and the reason was they need my thumb mark and bakit daw kasi hindi ko pa kinuha bago ko umalis ng pinas at need ko daw bumalik ng pilipinas para makuha ID ko kasi daw hindi naman renewal. Nag mail pa ko ng 2 copy of valid id,receipt,claim slip and authorization letter with original signature sa friend ko. I passed last year the result came out june 10 and my flight was june 7
Hindi ko alam na papasa ko so pano ko kukuhanin before umalis and need pa mag Oath taking bago makuha license. Nag online oath taking ako last year august.
Hindi ba talaga pwede makuha ng representative if currently living abroad?

Hello. If it’s your first PRC ID po, dapat po ikaw talaga kumuha kasi need nga po nila yung thumbprint nyo po. This one po is applicable to renewed IDs.
